The Coffee Pumper Coffee Roaster (!!!)

As a connoisseur of fine coffees, it has been my dream for a while now to roast my own green coffee beans. The idea of having hundreds of varieties available to roast from city to french, and anywhere in between, has made my extremities tingle. To my delight, on the world wide web, I have discovered it is possible to convert a hot air popcorn popper into a fully adjustable coffee roaster (fan speed, heater coil toggle.) Having the desire to develop my own signature roasts and take on a new project, I jumped on this (potentially dangerous) idea immediately. I obtained a Wear-Ever Popcorn Pumper from my grandmother, rounded up some parts, and got to work.

Turned the quirky son-of-a-bitch on and, to my surprise, didn't burn my house down! The fan spins quite quickly. At $22 in parts and a trip to the grandparents' house, this wasn't a bad deal at all (my grandparents are great people). Unfortunately I don't have any green coffee beans around, so roast assessments will have to come later. I've decided to call my new creation the Coffee Pumper, to pay tribute to the machine's past life.

I hope someone else is crazy enough to make one of these.
